with thanks to Keelings
This January Today FM's Mairead Ronan, together with Keelings, asked the question:
What if we spent January enjoying the little things that make us happy?
Instead of getting caught up with restrictive resolutions, people around the country got busy taking stock, considering how to be better to themselves in a more positive way.
For the entire month of January, Mairead asked people to get involved in Januberry by nominating their loved ones for a reward, helping to spread some cheer during the long dark January days!
Here are just some of the heartwarming nominations Mairead received from listeners around Ireland.
"I'd like to nominate my Mam, she is just amazing, my best friend, she's so kind and generous with her time. She has no problem stepping in to help with my two boys, and my dad too who is also outstanding. Both are fantastic parents and grandparents and I'll never be able to thank them enough for everything they have done."
"I’d like to nominate my niece. She’s getting married to a lovely man in April, she has a crazy mad life with work, her own two children plus their two nieces and Mammy's taxi day and night! They’re both going to Weight Watchers ahead of the big day, and honestly I don’t know how she does it all with a smile on her face always."
"I'd like to nominate my wife for the Keelings goodies for no other reason than I love her to bits and she makes me glow every day, so I'd like to repay the favour! She's the most selfless person in the entire world and she puts everyone ahead of herself so I think she deserves a little something!"
"I would love to give the pack to my husband, as he is up to his eyes at work and he does not get to look after himself much so he could do with a pick me up!"
"I would like to nominate my in-laws for the Keelings prize. They are amazing help to us with the kids, all the time and they are helping me paint our house at the moment too!"
"I want to give a shout out to my friend Rose. I had a baby ten months ago and I honestly would have been lost without her. All my friends have older children and some days I’d feel very alone but she was always on the phone checking in with me."
"I want to nominate my mum Loretta who looks after my toddler every Friday morning so I can go to a Mum exercise class with my younger baby. She looks after everyone else and never herself!"
Ireland is really full of incredible legends!
