Marcin cares for his wife Ola, who had a catastrophic stroke two years ago, resulting in locked in syndrome.
Mr Filak quit his job to become her full-time carer, as well as looking after their two children.
One young carer from each province was also recognised for the care they give to a family member.
The youngest was 11-year-old Hailey Golden, who helps her parents look after her three brothers who have special needs.
Hailey says her parents are some times under a lot of stress, so she would help by helping to feed and dress her brother.
