A young man has been found guilty of the manslaughter of a local fisherman in Dunmore East, Co Waterford.
Dean Kerrie, who now lives in Portarlington, Co Laois, denied a charge of murder, claiming he was acting in self-defence when he stabbed Jack Power.

Kerrie, who was 17yo at the time, was cleared of murder.

Kerrie, who was 17 at the time, told gardai that Mr Power forced his way into their home before attacking him and his mother.
After just under six hours of deliberations, the now 21-year-old was found NOT guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter.
He was remanded in custody until his sentencing hearing in October.
