Australia's Prime Minister claims it's not credible to link climate change to the devastating bushfires across large parts of the country.
Scott Morrison says 'many other factors' are to blame, despite a recent record-breaking heatwave, which has seen temperatures rise close to 50 degrees Celsius in places.
Since September, Australia's bushfire emergency has destroyed more than 700 homes.
I also visited the @NSWRFS HQ this morning to get another briefing on the bushfires & paid tribute to our amazing emergency services & volunteers who are on the frontline battling these bushfires all across the country. We can never thank you enough for everything you’re doing. pic.twitter.com/z7veCXoNn4

His government's been criticised for not doing enough to fight climate change - cited as a major factor in the spate of bushfires.
"There is no argument between broader issues of global climate change and weather events around the world," said Mr Morrison.
"But, I'm sure equally people would acknowledge the direct connection to any single fire event - its not a credible suggestion to make that link."
