It was a sad year for Irish politics as former Taoiseach Jack Lynch passes away at the age of 82. President Mary McAleese leads the way with tributes.

Slane Castle saw 80,000 revellers descend upon it's hallowed turf in August of our classic year, as Robbie Williams rocked a sell-out show. The entire event was streamed LIVE on Sky. Unbelievable stuff;

1999 was a year for long awaited movies too as George Lucas' prequel 'Star Wars: Episode 1' and Pixar's 'Toy Story 2' were released. It was also the year Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts hit it off in the iconic British romcom, Notting Hill;
