One of the biggest selling albums of 1997 and in UK history, The Verve's third album Urban Hymns is Paul McLoone's #ClassicAlbumOfTheWeek.
The album sold over ten million copies worldwide and hosts their most beloved tracks like Bitter Sweet Symphony, Drugs Don't Work and Lucky Man.
Amidst the tensions and inner conflicts within the band, they were able to compose Urban Hymns that soon thrust The Verve into worldwide critical and commercial success.
After raking home shelf of awards for Urban Hymns, including the first ever Q Classic Album award and a Mercury Prize nomination, in 1998 Richard Aschroft won the Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter of the year.
And this month, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Urban Hymns, they've re-issued a five-disc expanded edition.
