This week Paul McLoone has chosen Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' Boatman's Call as his classic album of the week.
Boatman's Call was released in 1997 and it was the band's 10th studio album. It was recorded between the Abbey Road Studios and Sarm West Studios in London.
The album featured hits such as "Green Eyes" and "Into My Arms" and marked a major departure from the band's post-punk sound as it was replaced with the sound of Cave's solo voice usually accompanied by just a piano.
Many songs on the album appeared to reflect on Cave's own personal experiences and relationships. Boatman's Call received widespread critical acclaim with many critics calling it Cave's sharpest album. The record turns 20 this year and you can hear classic tracks from the album all week on The Paul McLoone Show from 9PM!
