Peter Jackson's back with The Hobbit sequel - The Desolation of Smaug.
It's the second of three movies and follows Bilbo Baggins and the dwarves as they attempt to take back the dwarf city from the dragon, Smaug.
Having seen the first installment, I have to say I’m not super excited about the second. How they managed to squeeze three films out of one concise novel, I’ll never know. I’m definitely not one of those “the book is always better” people, but in this instance, it actually is. Santy brought me The Hobbit when I was ten and I LOVED it! As an adult watching the film, I can’t say the same – although I lucked out last year when three-quarters way through the first instalment, there was a “technical issue” in Dundrum and I got to go home! Everyone in the cinema was quite upset, so watching me cartwheeling out the door might not have helped matters. SCORE!
Sounding all alarms on every front! Beyoncé has done "it!!!" She dropped an entire album while we were all sleeping. Yes, good morning, and say hello to 14 new Beyonce songs!
At around midnight, the album appeared in iTunes. Featuring collaborations with ex-Destiny's Child divas, Jay Z, Drake, it's the longest pop album of 2013. The Internet, at this very moment, is on the verge of breaking.
Here’s a list of what’s on the album (try not to cringe too much at number 14)
1. Pretty Hurts
2. Haunted
3. Drunk In Love (feat. Jay Z)
4. Blow
5. No Angel
6. Partition
7. Jealous
8. Rocket
9. Mine (feat. Drake)
10. XO
11. Flawless (feat. Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche)
12. Superpower (feat. Frank Ocean)
13. Heaven
14. Blue (feat. Blue Ivy)
Jack Whitehall's been crowned King Of Comedy and Best TV Comedy Actor at this year's British Comedy Awards.
Steve Coogan got the Outstanding Achievement Award and they cut him off half way through his acceptance speech – sacré bleu! Even Jonathan Ross tweeted after how VERY rude it was.
They gave Will Ferrell an International Achievement Award (read: Hark! Ferrell’s in town! Make up an award!)
The Anchorman lads were in town on Monday and I got to go to the red carpet to have a chat with them. Will Ferrell plays Frank the Tank in my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE MOVIE EVER and I was so excited to meet him! I had my question all ready, hoping he’d get the reference: What is your position on the role of the government in supporting innovation in the field of biotechnology?
However, when he got to us I actually discovered (to my absolute horror) that he was a little bit...uninteresting. He didn’t seem to want to be there all that much. So he gave the generic answers to the generic questions asked and moved on really quickly, leaving me standing there in a pool of my own tears of disappointment. Not for long though, as I popped into the film and watched it. A solid 7. But unfortunately “you’re my boy Blue” is a phrase I’ll have to pocket for a while after that. *wrings hands despairingly*
