What happens to us when we’re put ‘On Air’?

You’re listening to the radio all week and the guy or gal on the quiz gets the simplest of questions wrong?

‘Ya What? My 5 year old woulda answered that!’

Turns out, though, that when you get on the line and have the chance...it can all go horribly, and a tad embarrassingly, wrong.

Dempsey’s Double is currently running on the Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show. It’s simple. Get the question right and win the money. Then you can decide to take the money, or try to double it by answering the next question. 

Let’s start at a fiver and by the time you’ve answered the tenth question, you’ve pocketed €2560. To facilitate it all, the answers are very, very ‘gettable’.

2 weeks later and nobody’s won a cent on Dempsey’s Double. A dozen contestants and nobody’s stopped and taken the money. Getting tempted to chance your arm for more money is one thing, but it’s some of the question fails that have raised an eyebrow or two and have cause more than a fair share of shouting at the radio.
