Happy Birthday Adolph Sax! The man who invented the saxophone would be 200 years old today and what a legacy he left when he passed away in 1894 (aged 79 seeing as you asked). It comes as no surprise therefore, that today is International Saxophone Day and to mark the occasion, we asked the listeners of The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show to tell us what their favourite saxophone solos were. Apart from some really great, cheesy suggestions, we were also reminded of THIS, thanks to Charlie in Meath, who hit the nail on the head when he said:

Iano sax solos always remind me of watching TV as a kid and when you hear the sax music you know there's be a big embarrassing "bedroom scene"! Sax = sex.

Best sax ever!! All Of My Life Phil Collins. Great Show. Thanks Ken

To anyone saying Jubel is the best sax song of 2014 - it's also the ONLY sax song of 2014! If you want something new, try New Orleans by Naxxos ;-)

Weeeeell, Sara from Cork would disagree with the sender of that text (as would our Paula) because Sara reckons:

Hi Ian, I know it’s a bit sad but Cheryl’s Crazy Stupid Love has a great sax beat to it! Sara, Cork

Ian. Sax – What’s Another Year. Cool. Joan

Ian, do u remember Roy Wood on Sax doing California Man with the move? Mike

Well Ian. For your sax song it has to be M People, Moving On Up. Cheers, Pat in Carlow

George Michael Careless Whisper Iano. Oh play it, go on!

Hey Ian...best sax songs are Your Latest Trick by Dire Straits and Lily Was Here by Dave Stewart and Candy Dulfer. Don in Clare.

Sade - Your Love is King

Iano, without a doubt, Spandau Ballet True has best sax ever!

A Million Love Songs by Take That
