COME ON SAOIRSE! Third time could be a charm for our favourite Carlow woman, Saoirse Ronan. The word on the street is that she could be in the running for her third Oscar nomination after winning rave reviews for her role in Lady Bird. In the movie, she plays an American student with a feisty attitude who dreams of leaving her home town in California to go to college and it’ll be released later on this year. Looking forward to it already.
Taylor Swift likes to keep us all on our toes. She released another single from her upcoming album ‘Reputation’ called ‘Ready For It’ on Saturday night. She surprised everyone by teasing a snippet during a broadcast of a college football game and released the full track yesterday. She has definitely embraced her dark side and this track is definitely more assertive, aggressive than most of her back catalogue. (I think it sounds like Rihanna!)
Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikkander are notoriously private about their relationship but the word on the street is that they are planning to get married in Ibiza next month. The details have been kept under lock and key but they’ve given close friends and family a date to arrive in Ibiza and they’ll be collected from the airport and brought to the secret location. The X Factor launched on Saturday night and it drew its lowest debut ratings since its first series . The 14th series was watched by an average of six million viewers - down 800,000 on last year - and peaked at 6.9m against last year’s 7.7m. Having said that, it was still the most watched television on Saturday night by a country mile!
