The Academic are Craig, Matt, Dean & Stephen from Mullingar & they joined us this morning to perform 'Different', their very first single.
They have been making huge waves in the two weeks since it's release on the web, with over 100,000 plays on Spotify already.
When we tweeted this morning that the lads were coming in, we mentioned the whole Niall Horan & Mullingar connection.

What happened next was hilarious. Niall Horan retweeted our tweet & twitter exploded! Ian was trending in the UK, USA, Australia, Canada among other far flung places. Now, quite a lot of people are aware of The Academic!
