The National TV Awards were on last night, and much of the night was tinged with sadness over the very recent and sudden death of Ann Kirkbride. Bill Roche (Ken Barlow) gave a speech that had the cast of Corrie in tears - and the crowd reacted with a minute-long standing ovation at the O2 in London (which was not seen by the TV audience because of ITV's decision to cut immediately to an ad break). Viewers on Twitter were quick to condemn the move, with one saying: "Oooh bad timing for adverts ITV NTA2015, very distasteful."

Damon Albarn has co-written a stage musical based on Lewis Carroll's classic story Alice in Wonderland. Titled Wonder.land, the story follows 12-year-old Aly, who creates an online alter-ego as Alice and loses herself in a virtual world. If this is half as good as it sounds, this will be excellent. EXCELLENT I TELLS YA!
