The reboot treatment is all the rage these days.
Ghostbusters, Star Trek, Tomb Raider ... all the best blockbusters have been revived in recent years and the lovable ogre is next in line.
Shrek, which first hit cinemas in 2001, is being reincarnated by the same man behind the highly successful Despicable Me films.
Universal Pictures has tasked Chris Meledandri with finding some fresh story lines for both the ogre and his partner in crime, Puss in Boots.
But what about the original cast?
According to Variety, Meledandri doesn’t want to mess with is the vocals and is hoping to get Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Antonio Banderas all on board together.
