Sharing a name with a celebrity, or even a fictional character, causes a host of problems, and it can be even more embarrassing if you don’t even like your namesake.
Sure there might be special treatment when you make restaurant bookings but you can be met with disbelief by people who think you’re taking the mick. What happens when your namesake affects your reputation?
It might be fun to share the same name as Tom Cruise or Marilyn Monroe for a while but surely the novelty rubs off?
