This morning on The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show, we revealed that a report showed that more songs had been written about Elvis Presley than any other artist. It listed over 220 songs including: Graceland by Paul Simon, A Room At The Heartbreakhotel by U2, and Calling Elvis by Dire Straits. So we asked our listeners for songs with their names in them - and the texts rolled in. Some were obvious, some were subtle and some were just chancing their arms! Have a look:

Morning Ian, I don't think you've mentioned this already but a good song for names is Song for Whoever by The Beautiful South. Dee.

Don’t forget the Bob Dylan classic "Lilly Rosemaire and the Jack of Hearts". As far as I remember, it’s on Blood on the Tracks if you want to give it a spin, hint hint J

Just play Lou Bega. Mambo No. 5. That will cover most girls’ names? Dave in Laois

Morning Ian. My name Donncha is also in a song – but they American-ise it a bit. "Donn-cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me". Donncha McCarrick & hi 2 every1 in St. Peter's Dunboyne ;-)

Ian what about "Dirty Diana" by Michael Jackson? Cheers, Liam

Laura by the Scissor Sisters! Cheers, Laura Haughey

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds - For Lucy McCormack age 5 in Castlebridge

The rollers....Billy don't be a Hero. Go on, you know you want to play it! Mark, Tipp

My name is Justine and I get a mention in the Smashing Pumpkins' song '1979.' I couldn't believe it when I first heard it - I'd never heard my name in anything before.
"Justine never knew the rules
Hung down with the freaks and ghouls”.

Ian, don't forget "Caroline" by the Quo

If your name is Johnny Carson, the Beach Boys did a whole song about....Johnny Carson

Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits - sounds like he sings my name Julie-Anne

I can see clearly now 'Lorraine' has gone!

Try being Patricia growing up in the 80s/90s

How are ya Iano. Mam Eileen, still loves the aul floor filler with her name. "Come on Eileen” - at 92 she just can’t give it as much as she used to. Des

I never thought I’d hear my name in a song until the Saw Doctors came out with Yvonne. Awful song.

Every time I introduce myself I get Ebony and Ivory sung to me!! Or the awful chat up line I could be your Ivory! Ebony from Killarney

Shotgun Willie by Willie Nelson.....Willie in Tipp

Morning Ian, my name is Shirley and Shakin’ Stevens had a song called Shirley. We have it on record at home! Can’t remember when it came out. Love your show.

We're only Makin’ plans for Nigel! Nigel in limerick

Depeche Mode have a song called Lillian and we called our daughter Lilly Anne :-) from Gaz Chunk

Hi Ian, Sheila take a Bow from the Smiths! from Sheila

Hey Iano. How can anyone not mention the brilliant song, and my namesake, Thin Lizzy’s Sarah!! Some man our Phil. Sarah

Desiree by Neil Diamond. Hummed to my lovely wife of the same name every so often. Bren

Hey Mickey by Toni Basil, the ultimate song with my name. Michael in Clonmel

Called my daughter Sharona. Made a promise as a young lad in 1979 if I ever had a daughter I would do that when I heard the song. Cheers, Seanchail. (that's my name, doubt it's in a song though)

And poor Derek spent the day gloomily mulling over this:

There’s not ONE song with Derek in it. Terrible name. What were my parents thinking?
