All you have to do is email riverdance@todayfm.com and tell us why you should take part in the big record attempt. Participants do need a basic competency as an Irish dancer and the fitness so that they can dance for 5 continuous minutes
Riverdance – On Screen
The Gathering Ireland 2013 has been a catalyst this year for a wide variety of unique events and homecomings.
On Saturday July 20th and Sunday July 21st the Gathering Ireland welcomes Riverdance home with Riverdance – The Gathering. At 8pm on Saturday 20th July, Merrion Square West will be the venue for a very special open-air event as part of Riverdance - The Gathering. Following 19 years of global touring Riverdance will be presented in its city of birth in a brand new format – Riverdance on Screen.
Riverdance on Screen will feature a giant High Definition video screen and a live band on stage consisting of Riverdance musicians. The audience on the night will be the first ever to experience this unique presentation of 80 minutes of selected highlights of Riverdance through the years on screen accompanied by Bill Whelan’s’ Grammy winning score performed live by the Riverdance musicians. Jean Butler, Riverdance’s the original female lead dancer and Riverdance composer Bill Whelan will be your hosts for this unique event.
Riverdance on Screen will be preceded by International singing star and featured soloist of Riverdance on Broadway in 200 and 2001 - Brian Kennedy and his band in concert. Brian will also play a part in Riverdance on Screen. Singer Songwriter Eleanor McEvoy will make a guest appearance when she will perform her version of Lift the Wings from the stage show as part of Riverdance on Screen.
Riverdance 0n Screen will give the audience an unprecedented opportunity to see Riverdance as it was performed in 1995 in The Point Depot Dublin, in 1996 in Radio City Music Hall, New York, in 2002 in The Premiere Arena, Geneva and more recently in 2010 in The Beijing Exhibition Centre in Beijing, as well as hearing the stirring score performed live by the crea
