With Al hosting his last breakfast show (for now) today, he reminisces on the week and chats about how much he has enjoyed being an early riser.
His efforts haven't gone unnoticed though as the listeners, and top media heads alike, have been highly impressed by the young man's performance - with one of those advocates being Kildare broadcaster Ray D'Arcy.
Ray called the show to compliment the host on doing such a stellar job - even though us Irish aren't the best with the old flattery.
The more the lads chat, the more they realise they have a lot in common; they're a bit fumbly with the buttons on the desk and come from humble backgrounds - but who's the most humble? That's the main question, "four fish fingers between twelve of us on a Friday".
Their main difference is their lifestyle, well their health actually. Chicken fillets rolls, cigarettes and getting lifts to work? What is Al playing at?? "They'll kill ya Al".
