Georgia play host to Ireland on Saturday for their World Cup qualifier, so Radio Roy wanted to gives us some stats, team selection, predictions etc., but got a little side-tracked by the public, "it won't be easy out in Tbilisi".
With Denis Irwin as co-pilot, the dynamic duo scanned through the textline, and it was a message from a listener called 'Tighe' that begins the upward movement of his blood pressure.
Tighe wanted to know if Keano would be disappointed in missing Electric Picnic due to his international duties, so Roy responded with 'the lowest form of wit' as he started to wonder if he's wasting his time going at all?, "when really I should be in Rankin's Wood stuffing avocado toast into me face at a silent disco!".
The lads were looking for a feel of what things were like on the ground, so Roy gave his pal Stan a shout for some colour. Stan gives him two - black and white. The poor fella hasn't gotten too far, "Well, I'm still in me room". He also has a habit of making a long story longer, so his mundane randomness quickly angers the host. He kinda reminded us of a Father Ted character...
To get the show back on track, the Corkman thinks it's the perfect time to roll out his new segment, "Roy's Milestone Moment" (ehh that sounds fairly familiar *scratches head*). Triona is the lucky lady chosen to tell her tale, and her special memory involves the song "Hot in Herre" by Nelly. The track reminds her of how she met her fella Paul, and Roy is lapping up the love story, until she slips in 'Saipan' a couple of times, and he then realises that her surname is McCarthy, "You're probably related to the dirty gowl!".
Finishing off the show is a straightforward quiz - one question, one answer...simple right? It turns out to be the final straw, and rightfully so - I mean, how hard is it to answer this, "Finish the name of the song: Georgia on my.....".
