This morning, a survey revealed the top things people argue about on holiday (flirting with the locals, playlist in the car etc) and it got the team talking about the most pointless arguments they've ever had with people. Well, the listeners of The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show heard, and texted in to share their absurd arguments too. Have a read below, and take comfort in the fact that you're not alone! And most of you are always right. Cough.

Hi Ian, your conversation about stupid arguments reminded me of something I hadn't thought of in ages. At a wedding a few years ago, parked up the car, husband took the keys, separated the car key, put it in his pocket left the remaining keys in the car. Lovely wedding, taxi home, 4am full of drink, bye bye lovely taxi driver (and tip). Go to open the front door. Car key, no house key. Blue Murder. Remember the argument alright but I can't remember wherever we slept the rest of that night!

I bought the wife the wrong size dress at Christmas, that’s the last time I ever buy anything without help from her sister. She was so offended. Took her until about 4pm on Christmas Day to thaw out.

Me and the missus travelling to Dublin from Waterford and it’s -0.5 degrees. Fighting over the hot water bottle. Told her get back in her box, this water bottle is staying on me b*llocks for another 2 hours.

My ex would only stop to ask directions of people on the passenger side of the car, and he would look straight ahead "while I did the asking" as if to distance himself from the whole thing. Some MEN are stupid. K.

Got in a whole heap of bother yesterday after I brought home the wrong chocolate. Can’t do anything right!

My husband and I had a massive fight last week after I took a chip off his plate. How mean is he!!

We have a recurring fight any time we have to leave the house. Wife takes WEEKS to get ready to go anywhere. Left her at home the last time. She’s still annoyed.

Stupid arguments, I'll tell you what’s stupid - a husband thinking he's won any quarrel because he will feckin’ pay! Alan. G'man Alan.
