Benedict Cumberbatch has hit out at the "obsessive, deluded and scary" behaviour some of his fans indulge in, saying it's "stalking".
He’s always enjoyed the “Cumberbitches” and doesn’t seem to take the whole thing too seriously – but now, so-called fans have started to say that his marriage to wife Sophie Hunter is a PR stunt.
His exact words to Vanity Fair were "There are people who believe that my wife is a PR stunt and my child is a PR stunt. I think really it's to do with the idea that the 'Internet's boyfriend' can't actually belong to anyone else but the Internet.”
Ellie Goulding could not hide her embarrassment when quizzed by co-host Carrie Bickmore whether she is carrying Prince Harry’s child. She went red and said how embarrassing the question was – and it wasn’t true. She was spotted smooching him over the summer. What a rude question to be asked. That’s the same embarrassment of offering your seat to a woman who isn’t pregnant or asking someone who isn’t pregnant when they’re due.
The IFTAs are on tomorrow night, and Brendan O’Carroll has paid 2.5K so that all of the cast can go. The show is up for, and expected to win, a few awards – but you still have to pay for a table. It’s 250euro a head and one of the other cast members says that’s it’s fine for them – they can afford it, but some of the other shows would like to bring their whole cast and cannot afford it. Individual nominees in the TV categories get 2 tickets, and anything after that has to be footed by the nominee...which is fair enough.
The X Factor TV3 has people switching off in their droves. Apparently, they have lost tens of thousands of fans, and is down 14% from 2015. The X Factor used to attract half a million viewers in Ireland but just 233K tuned in on Sunday, according to today’s Irish Sun. More people were watching Fair City than X Factor.
Still, those ratings are still very big for TV3. It’s the same story in the UK – and news emerged last week that Simon Cowell signed another 3 year-deal X Factor with ITV, prompting the internet to make such jokes as this:
