Earlier on this week, we got an email from Paul in Naas.
Hi Ian and gang,
I was wondering if you could do me a massive favour? I want to wish my fiancé Tara a happy 13th anniversary. I can’t believe I’m old enough to be having a 13th anniversary but anyway we met in The Soundhouse in Naas on this day 13 years ago – it was a Saturday night, I was 18 and she was the older woman – an ancient 19. (Something I still slag her about!!) After a few false starts, we finally got together and haven’t looked back since, she’s the love of my life and puts up with a lot of guff from me. If you could say hello to her on Tuesday morning before 8am and play The Darkness ‘I believe in a thing called love’ I’d really appreciate it because that’s our song. It just reminds me of the time we started going out – takes me right back to those nervous first few dates in Eddie Rockets.
Thanks Iano, love the show!

We got chatting about our own milestone music, the songs that bring us right back to a certain time and place in our lives - first love, exams, moving out of home, going to college, bad jobs, good jobs, weddings, babies. For Ian, it was 'I'm Not In Love' by 10cc which reminded him of slow dancing at the local disco and Charlie's was 'Dreaming Of You' by The Coral which always brings him back to his very first gig. The Arctic Monkeys remind Shauna of moving into her first apartment at age 19 (and having loads of parties!) and 'Baby I Love You' by The Ramones always makes Clare smile because it was her & her hubbies song.
We put it to the listeners and got a massive response!

- Hi Ian. My milestone song is Coldplay, The scientist. It gave me the realisation that a long time relationship had to end.
- Born Slippy. Underworld. Reminds me of Uni in Belfast and turning from teenager to student and what a ball I had. Brendan in Nenagh

- Morning Ian, one of my milestone songs is We Found Love by Rihanna. On my wedding day I text the great Tony to play a request for us, he did (as he always did) and he played that song which was actually pretty appropriate if he knew where we live, it's a bit of a hopeless place, lol!! So it always reminds me of Tony and my wedding day.
- Ian my milestone song is a different for a 43yr old man. Its Taylor swift shake it off our daughter was very sick and went through an awful lot of operations and after a long recovery we had a birthday party and disco for her.
