Lily Allen has apologised on "on behalf of my country" while visiting refugees in the Calais 'Jungle'.

She faced massive backlash online - so much so she was trending on Twitter - after "speaking for the country" while talking about the plight of refugees.

She became emotional while meeting a 13-year-old boy from Afghanistan who has risked his life trying to board lorries bound for the UK. People are going nuts about this - at least she's trying to do something?! I struggle to watch these videos, because the cruelty in the comments section makes me despair. A small bit of compassion and kindness goes a long way.
