Tadhg Hickey, and Laura O'Mahony, (two thirds of the Cork comedy trio known as CCCahoots) were on the phone line this morning to give us an education on their new TV series called "The School".
The three-part sitcom is a mocumentary focusing on a love and friendship triangle in a primary school between the prinicpal (played by the other CCCahoots member Dominic MacHale), a teacher (Tadhg) and the school sceretary (Laura) as they prepare for a nativity play.
You may know the crew from some of their previous shorter works such as, "I'll go with ya", "FitzGibbons' Budget Funerals Trailer" and "(R)onanism" (about a guy who is dating himself), but If you don't - then you can check them out here. (Trust me it's worth it).
"The School" is their first attempt at a longer feature, and after already watching it online myself - they're getting three gold stars! An excellent concept with loads of natural acting, and a very clever/witty script.
The first episode airs at 10:35pm tonight on RTÉ2, and the full series is available on the RTÉ player.
