Aidan Ryan from Limerick told us a great story of how when he was a young lad, he invited Dolores O'Riordan into his house when she was lost, and he made her tea and gave her apple tart - his Mam nearly died when she got home and realised who was in her house - and Aidan hadn't even given her the Good China!

We asked the listeners of The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show who the most famous person they've ever met was  - with some interesting results!

Met Chris Eubank in hotel lobby. A real gent soo nice got autograph and photo.

Tommy Tiernan opened the door for me as I ran in to the maternity ward for the birth of our daughter Cariosa. He was then our first visitor as he and Yvonne were the only ones there when we came back to the ward. It was Paddys Day. I just assumed they had run out of laughing gas. Brian in Galway

Morning IANO and gang I met George Best in London late 1980's in Chequers Pub and had a vodka with him. One sound man. From Docky in Kilkenny

I met a guy at work one day in the Airport - he looked a little distressed, he said he'd lost his boarding pass. While I was taking him back through security to get another one issued, I noticed people staring at us. I then realised it was none other than Brian O'Driscoll and he was very grateful!

Hi Ian I met Mel Gibson in town in the Brasserie Bar - he was making Braveheart. He was very nice and gave me his autograph from Oonagh'

The most famous person that I have met is Derek Davis when he was opening a furniture store in cork in the late eighties.

Good MORNING! I was a nanny in Los Angeles for people who worked in the movies. I met Brenda Fricker on Home Alone 2. Also I met Bette Midler in Toronto a few times. They were very nice and friendly. Franny the Nanny.

I was on holidays visiting my brother in Tokyo and went into a toy shop to pick up some presents. I noticed a little blond haired girl who I recognised. I couldn't understand how I recognised this child until I looked up, and Angelina Jolie was standing there. I had recognised her daughter Shiloh. I started looking for Brad Pitt but sadly he wasn't there! I didn't have the courage to talk to her but she knew I recognised her and smiled.

I met The Edge and Adam Clayton in a residence lounge in a hotel in Dublin after they came back from the US after the Rattle and Hum Tour. Drank champagne and chatted for ages with them. Class acts. Hugh. Cork

I was thumbing a lift years ago and Jack Charlton pulled up and gave me a lift! Had a great chat with the legend. Lovely man. John in Roscommon

Met Steven Tyler & Joe Perry in Dublin shoe shop the day after their gig. Lovely lads, signed tickets, took photos, kisses etc. Steven had the softest skin, definitely moisturises!

Met Billy Connolly casually walking down the street in Wellington in New Zealand few years ago. Couldn't have been more nice and genuine asking where I was from and telling jokes.
