The VMAs were on last night and Kanye got the four minutes he demanded, to do with as he wanted before presenting his video for his new single, "Fade." Taylor Swift didn’t go to the VMAs but she got a dig in saying Kanye could “have his four minutes”.
Beyonce’s performance was quite the spectacle. She also took home the top award at the MTV Video Music Awards.
She won Video of the Year for 'Formation', and she was honoured with best female video for 'Hold Up', which is also featured on her latest album, Lemonade.
Britney performed with G-Eazy – she just danced around and sang minimally. It wasn’t any ways as good as I’m A Slave For You but it also wasn’t as bad as 2007’s Gimme More so, you know – winning. She did however, channel her inner Borat by borrowing his mankini for the evening.
And Rihanna and Drake’s awkward on-stage meeting – she basically friend-zoned him in front of the world. She “curved him” – he went in for the kiss and she took a detour.
The full show will air tonight at 9pm on MTV UK.
The X Factor got off to a shaky start over the weekend.
The return of ITV's talent show was viewed by 6.8 million people on Saturday night - a drop of 800,000 compared to last year's first episode.
There were 30 minutes of advertising in the 90 minute show on Saturday – basically a break after each sob story. (seriously – the sob stories, give over!)
Cillian Murphy doesn’t want his 2 sons turning into “macho men”. He recently moved back to Ireland with his wife and children and hopes that the boys don’t adopt the “unemotional” Irish behaviour. He firmly believes women are the superior sex, and thinks that Irish men project a macho facade, and find it hard to express emotion.
Jamie Dornan has said that he won’t be tackling Shakespeare any time soon as he is not a trained actor – and he’s ok with that. He reckons that some of his least favourite actors are RADA trained but they’re “boring and predictable”. So don’t expect him to be climbing the walls of Verona any time soon.
(Coincidentally – Cillian and Jamie will star in the upcoming Anthropoid together, a WWII drama recounting the biographical tale of the assassination attempt on Hitler's third in command, SS General Reinhard Heydrich. (out September 9th)
