With RTÉ doing a stellar job at highlighting some of our nation's finest times in the sporting world, we said we'd make a few calls, and get a mini-panel of our own together.
This morning we welcomed Ronan O'Gara, Niall Quinn, and Eamon Dunphy in to tell us who they give the nod to.
ROG was looking very fresh (well he is the ambassador for ClarinsMen), as he told us that rowing sensations, the O'Donovan brothers, were his pick of the bunch. He reckons the quirky Corkmen are very like him with their "larger than life personalities". Pure entertainers. Their diet impresses him a lot too.
The nicest man to ever grace a pitch, Niall Quinn, pledges his allegiance to Ronnie Delaney. The 1956, 1500m gold medalist's pace is something the former Ireland striker always wanted, but could never achieve, "I studied all of Ronnie Delaney's videos, and none of them worked".
Then we had good aul Eamon, who surprisingly went for "The Darling of Dublin", Ken Doherty. Ken hammered Stephen Hendry in the 1997 World Snooker Championship final to be crowned World Champ, and Eamon is a massive fan.
Throughout Iano's chat with the lads, Paul Kimmage rings the show to scrutinise their selections. He's not at all happy, as he feels there was a lot of smoke and mirrors involved in all their successes.
In his eyes, the O'Donovan brothers are totally scripted, Ronnie Delaney had something like EPO in his chowder, as for Ken Doherty, well let's just say "there was more than chalk on the tip of that cue".
Some serious allegations there Paul!!
