It’s been a big week for new Irish music. We played Snow Patrol's new song ‘Don’t Give In’ yesterday and today, we heard brand new material from Kodaline and Picture This.

Picture This have had an incredible 18 months – a number 1 hit album, 250,000 tickets sold, the Topflight Today FM Ski Trip!  And it looks like it’s going to continue as they release a brand new single ‘This Morning’ which they say is just a taste of what is to come – Ryan and Jimmy are putting the finishing touches to their second album which is due out soon.

Meanwhile, Kodaline’s brand new single ‘Follow Your Fire’ came out today too. It’s produced by Johnny McDaid of Snow Patrol and is taken from their forthcoming third album. It’s been a while since the lads released the second album but they wanted to take their time and make sure this was the best it could be.

Rod Stewart has a thing or two to say about Elton John’s retirement tour - he’s called it a dishonest ploy to make money. Ouch! He says he doesn’t believe in retirement tours, that it all stinks of wanting to sell tickets and that there’s nothing rock and roll about it all! Handbags at dawn.

The country has been glued to Ireland’s Got Talent all week and last night, the final two acts went through to the final. Rapper Aaron J Hart and ballroom dancers Xquisite snapped up the final two spots in the Live Grand- Final this Saturday night, joining FKFT, Linda McLoughlin, Double Impact and RDC. And.....Ian was joined by Lucy Kennedy live on the show this morning to exclusively reveal not one but TWO wildcards! Congratulations to Matt Dodd and Zacc Milne, who will also perform in the final. Exciting stuff!
