Idris Elba Has Been Named The Sexiest Man Alive

Every year People Magazine give one man the title of Sexiest Man Alive. Previous winners include Maroon 5's Adam Levine, George Clooney and Hugh Jackman - so it's hard to dispute the results. And yesterday they announced 2018's Sexiest Man Alive: Idris Elba.

The 46 year old London born actor couldn't believe he had been given the title when People Magazine contacted him to let him know. 

“I was like, ‘Come on, no way. Really?' Looked in the mirror, I checked myself out. I was like, ‘Yeah, you are kind of sexy today.’ But to be honest, it was just a nice feeling. It was a nice surprise — an ego boost for sure.”

Idris is known for his role in the hit TV series Luther as well as appearing in Thor films - I mean it makes sense he'd play a Norse god. 

Elba is only the 3rd non-white male to be given the title since People started the award in 1958. Denzel Washington won in 1996 and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson took the title in 2016.
