Ed Sheeran was in 3Arena last night and he was great! No backing singers, no props, no dancers – just Ed, on stage with a guitar. He sang all the classics as well as most of the songs from Divide. He had a trad band on stage with him (Beoga) too and I think the girl from Galway Girl was there - the camera just stayed on her for the entire song as she played the fiddle. If you’re going tonight, you’re in for a treat! He doesn't do a huge amount of talking to the crowd, which I assumed was down to the fact that he was in Galway the night before and may have been a little bit, um, tired...but I'm told that's normal He just played the hits to 13000 very happy people!
NIALL be there!
Niall Horan is going to Rory McIlroy’s wedding later on this month. He and his plus one will go along to the secret wedding which isn’t really a surprise seeing as Niall has caddied for Rory before and they’re obviously friends. What on earth do you buy someone like Rory McIlroy for a wedding? From one millionaire to another, it would want to be something very meaningful because he doesn't need the cash.
The IFTAs ratings were a flop on RTE. They were on last weekend and they were shown on Tuesday and just 164K people tuned in to see Deirdre O’Kane host the awards. I reckon it was shown too long after the actual award ceremony (Friday night) and also – not enough big celebrities showed up.
