Bob Geldof apparently “offended” (god that WORD) festival goers in Brentwood last night saying;

“This is a rock’n’roll festival. When you come to a rock’n’ roll festival you dress for a rock’n’roll festival. We are mega. And you are Brentwood. How do we know that you are Brentwood and we are mega? Because I am wearing a  pretend snakeskin suit and you are wearing Primark”.

The Essex crowd started to boo the old Rat before many walked out.

Things had begun badly when he began shouting and swearing as soon as he took to the stage.

Ghostbusters actress Leslie Jones has quit Twitter after a barrage of racist abuse - it’s been all over the news this week.

The Irish Mirror today has compiled a list of other people who have left citing a lack of protection from Twitter.

Graham Norton left earlier this month after saying it’s no longer a happy place. He still has an account so maybe someone else runs it. Same with Sinead O’Connor – someone else runs her Twitter account.

Stephen Fry deleted his account in February after his comment about Jenny Beaven at the BAFTAs. He was branded mean and disgusting – so removed his account from his 12 million followers.

Adele quit Twitter in 2012 after receiving death threats – her PR team now runs hers. And in Ireland, Claire Byrne and Ryan Tubridy each shut down their accounts after trolls got at them. Being critical is part of Twitter – that’s the nature of it, but being abusive is not.

Coronation Street actors are LIVID (apparently) after show bosses slapped them with a sunbathing ban. Producers are ordering them to cover up so that they don’t look tanned or burnt for scenes being shot for September. Shayne Ward who plays Aidan Connor – boss of the knicker factory – was one actor who couldn’t enjoy the 30 degree heatwave in the UK during the week for continuity reasons. Some cast members were apparently devastated that they were missing out on the hottest days of the year..but their skin will thank them when they’re older. AND they got an ice-cream van on set, so #winning.

Johnny Depp won’t give Amber Heard a penny til she shuts her trap, according to various showbiz websites today.

Johnny filed legal docs, allegedly obtained by TMZ, in which he concedes Amber is entitled to know something about his financial situation in order to get her cut in their divorce, but he says she has refused to sign a confidentiality agreement.
