Production for Top Gun 2 has hit a bit of a roadblock as Tom Cruise insists on doing his own stunts.
This time, the 56 year-old insists on learning to fly fighter jets for Top Gun: Mavrerick.
Tom already has a license to fly planes but he isn’t qualified to fly the fighter jets which he’s now learning to do.
A film insider told The Sun that Tom "won’t film all the flight sequences — it’s too dangerous — but he will fly some, making him the first actor in cinema history to do so".
"The producers would prefer not to put their leading man, not to mention their whole film, at risk".
“They also wouldn’t choose to have their long-awaited sequel delayed nearly a year, but despite the huge insurance costs they are willing to do what it takes to ensure Tom is happy.”
It means the Top Gun sequel could be delayed by almost a year.
Last year, Mission Impossible 6 was delayed after Tom broke an ankle jumping from a London building.
