There were tears of joy, cries of despair and frocks a-plenty as EastEnders walked away with the biggest number of gongs at last night's Inside Soap Awards.
Emmerdale nabbed the Best Soap Award while EastEnders bagged the most Awards with a total of five - including Best Actor and Best Actress prizes for Steve McFadden – aka Phil Mitchell – and Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey Slater Branning Fowler. Innit.

Aisling O’Loughlin will NOT be returning to TV3, according to the Irish Sun today. She was due back from maternity leave on October 18th but following meetings between her solicitors and TV3 she has decided not to return. She, according to the paper, was ready for a change but could not accept the replacement role offered, which was filling in for TV3’s holidaying staff – it would mean no desk of her own or no seat in the office.

An Irish songwriter called Ruth-Ann Cunningham wrote (or laid down) some tracks with Niall Horan and while doing so they ate Superquinn sausages and had Christy belting out the ballads in the background. Sounds a bit like a date to me.
