Great British Bake Off bosses have actually hired comedy writers for this new series, it has emerged. Apparently Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig were not funny enough and there wasn’t enough natural chemistry between them. The same writers they got in have written for Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Take Away and The Jonathan Ross Show. It’s fairly standard to hire comedy writers for any show, I’d imagine...as long as the jokes don’t sound too rehearsed of course!
