Christy Moore has always been one of our favourite guests on Gift Grub, and with a lot of things wrecking his head lately, we love him even more.
He's some man for the observations, and today's one is small, round, hole-y, and taking over Ireland like a plague of scrumptious baked locusts - dougnuts...lot of doghnuts, "when did everybody decide we need more doughnuts?".
They're popping-up in every unoccupied buildings throughout the land, and even taking over other businesses. He went to his regular dry cleaners the other day and ended up leaving with some nutty goodness.
First it was tomagotchis, then it was property, coffee, avocados...and now these. We're a nation of addicts he reckons.
To express himself properly, Christy has done what he does best, and written another belter for the boudhrán. It's called 'Peak Doughnut' and it's unreal!! And with lines like this, I think it's the one I've most enjoyed so far...
"ahh who am I foolin'...I'm droolin', there's a Krispy Creme opened in Doolin".
