Christy Moore popped into studio this morning to voice his opinion about the deluge of cookery books out at the minute, and what's worse is that they're "books about cookin' from people who aren't cooks". And he's right!
It seems you cannot walk into a bookstore anymore without having about twenty new 'chefs' staring at you on the cover of their new baking bible or meal magazine.
He starts off with Simon Delaney's new one, "Simply Simon's - The Diner's Cookbook" and it has him scratching his head. Christy has a better name for it and it's punderful.
He then moves on to Roz Purcell and Rosanna Davidson - models and fitness fanatics yes, but world renowned cooks? We think not, "and then ya have Rosanna...doing something with a banana".
Within this age of fakers, there is one man spreading eternal hope; a chef in shining aprons, who has crafted a career in culinary delights all the way from county Cavan - the one and only Neven Maguire.
Using the Blacklion stalwart as inpsiration, Christy feels a song coming on that will put the whole fiasco into context. He has one main point for all the chancers out there, "Ya'll never beat the Neven...".
