And other hideous reviews
The Cats reviews are in... oh dear. It had the ingredients of a box office smash; beloved musical with a huge cast extremely famous people. Dame Judi Dench, Idris Elba, Taylor Swift, Sir Ian McKellan, Jason Derulo... and so many more.
It certainly has made a huge impact... by how badly it's been received.
“A perfectly dreadful hairball of woe” – The Guardian
"A half-digested hairball of a movie that spends too much energy worrying about the technology and not enough on what fans love about "Cats." - Variety
"Cats is destined to go down in glorious infamy. It’s one of those rare cinematic events that feels like a collective hallucination – improbable and entirely indescribable". – Independent.co.uk
A spectacular disaster. I didn’t think it was possible to make a weirder, more inscrutable, uneven, maddeningly bizarre version of #Cats. I was wrong. My full review with Roth is below! https://t.co/qA8dSduWaU

Glad to report that Cats is everything you’d hoped for and more: a mesmerisingly ugly fiasco that makes you feel like your brain is being eaten by a parasite. A viewing experience so stressful that it honestly brought on a migraine.
