And so this is Christmas, and what have you done...well, you’ve taken the Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show 2014 Listeners' Poll, that’s what! You voted in your droves for your favourite film, song, TV show, book, and lots more. We took your results and made an entire show out of looking back on 2014, with some special guests along the way.
Song of the Year: Happy by Pharrell Williams. The word "Happy" is repeated in this song 56 times, it was iTunes most-purchased song of the year - and Happy in Kirchberg was one of more than 5000 tribute videos made. Look how HAPPY we are in Austria!
Album of the Year: Hozier by Hozier. Not a huge surprise there - but Hozier accepted the award graciously, and even performed To Be Alone With You live in studio. This is really special:
Movie of the Year: Gone Girl. This thriller left many wondering whether they would ever get married - and the general consensus, having watched this film is...NO.
TV of the Year: Love Hate! Again, no surprise there – and we had Laurence Kinlan AKA Elmo on standby to accept this huge accolade.
Website of the Year: Todayfm.com. WE DID NOT RIG THIS! Thanks to everyone who reads our posts, listens to our podcasts, follows the news and sport on Today FM. We appreciate each and every one of you, and the over 1 and a half MILLION hits our website gets a month.
We spoke to Brian O’Driscoll about 3 separate awards to which he can lay claim – especially the first one, MAN OF THE YEAR.
Irish Man of the Year: Brian O’Driscoll
Hope for 2015: Ireland to win the Rugby World Cup (possible call)
The Moment You Were Proud To Be Irish in 2014: Ireland Winning The 6 Nations
We also asked Brian to shout up the stairs to his missus that she, for the third year running, has won Tweeter of the Year. No surprise there – she’s hilarious!
Tweeter of the Year - Amy Huberman
One of those days with a newborn where you haven't got dressed, eaten a proper meal or even ONCE used the triangle ruler emoji type thing #ðŸ“

Irish Woman of the Year: Katie Taylor. Again. And SO deserved – again.
Gift Grub of the Year: Sky Sports GAA. One of the biggest Gift Grub reactions we’ve ever had – have a listen back (and if you’re in work and listening on the sly, be careful – you WILL laugh out loud).
Book of the Year: The Second Half by Roy Keane. The second instalment of the Corkman's autobiography proved to be the best book this year. All credit TO literature.
Soap Storyline of the Year: Tina’s murder in Corrie. Even her big hair couldn't save her this time, so poor aul Tina died as she lived – on her back.
International Moment of the Year: The World Cup Final (maybe Germany beating Brazil 7-1 could have been included in there, scarlet for them).
Breakfast Show Moment of the Year: When Paula said s*** live on air. And then Ian repeated it.
