It was an honour having one of Tinseltown's hottest properties in studio with us this morning, as we welcomed Barry Keoghan for some breakfast banter.
I'm gonna start off by saying what a cool kid this young Dublin actor is. Having only met him, he emitted a real chilled, focused aura - this fella knows what he's about! Loves the craic too.
Barry was in to chat about his latest movie "The Killing Of A Sacred Deer". Directed by the enigmatic Yorgos Lanthimos, the man behind "The Lobster" and "Dogtooth", the dark movie centres around a family who are mysteriously threatened. Colin Farrell plays the role of the father, with Nicole Kidman as the mother, and Barry as their not-so-mild-mannered son. (It's at 75% on rotten tomatoes so defo worth a watch).
Iano asked him about his rise to success, and some of the key points along the way. From his early days in Fair City, to Love/Hate (don't mention the cat), to now rocking red carpets across the globe. It all started from a sign on a window, "I remember seeing money on the notice".
He also speaks about his neighbour Conor McGregor, gives us some insight into what it's really like working with some of Hollywood's finest, "sure I had to sit in me jocks on front of Nicole Kidman", the perks of the job, and how his amazing granny makes sure he doesn't get ahead of himself, "she keeps me down to earth".
He likes to get in the ring a bit too, and isn't half bad at the aul accents either #morto
Watch out world - he's coming to get ya...
