For those of you who listen to the show regularly, you'll know how much I am a fan of Larry Levan, the resident dj of New York's Paradise Garage in the 70's and 80's. If there were a chance for me to travel back in time, it would be to one of those sweaty Saturday nights to burn up the dancefloor to his amazing selection of tunes. It was Larry's birthday on Sunday, he would have been 60, sadly he passed at the young age of 38. I decided to pay homage to him on last Saturday's show, many of the tracks you see below were part of his sets, often described by regulars as 'Saturday Mass'. His music has been a huge influence on my djing, the tracks he selected still give me goosebumps no matter how many times I hear them. Larry Levan was great friends with Frankie Knuckles, they were both from the Bronx, loved music and turned out to be two of the best djs in music history. I ended the show on Frankie Knuckles 'Your Love', I hope they're up in disco heaven dancing together.
