WATCH: Usain Bolt addresses COVID-19 "diagnosis"

Usain Bolt has reportedly been diagnosed with COVID-19.

The Jamaican sprint legend addressed the news on social media on Monday afternoon.

The 100m and 200m world record holder is self-isolating at home.

The 34-year old released a video on both Instagram and Twitter recorded from his bed, saying, "I was waking up, and like everybody I was checking social media.

"I saw that social media saying that I'm confirmed to have COVID-19.

"I did a test on Saturday... I'm trying to be responsible so I'm going stay in stay here for my friends."

Bolt claims to be asymptomatic.

The eight-time Olympic gold medalist celebrated his birthday on Friday, and celebrated with a party whose guestlist reportedly included Raheem Sterling, Bayer Leverkusen's Leon Bailey and cricket legend Chris Gayle.

"I'm going to quarantine myself and wait on the confirmation to see what is the protocol and how I should go about quarantining myself," Bolt added.

"[I'm going to] talk to all my friends and say that if they came in contact - just to be safe - quarantine by yourself and just take it easy."

Bolt retired after the 2017 World Athletics Championships. He since tried his hand at football with Australian side Central Coast Mariners.
