Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers says he is not looking to leave the club, but wouldn't be drawn on the specific rumours he is a candidate to replace Unai Emery at Arsenal.

The former Liverpool and Celtic boss has overseen a dramatic turnaround at the Foxes in less than a year in charge, with the club now second in the Premier League table, and fighting for Champions League football.

Rodgers has been touted as a target for Arsenal, who sacked manager Unai Emery on Friday, while former Gunners midfielder Mikel Arteta and current interim manager Freddie Ljungberg are also among the candidates to take the job.

He sparked further speculation yesterday when he suggested there could be a clause in his contract which would allow him leave the club, but has backed down on that this afternoon, reaffirming his happiness at the Kingpower Stadium.

"I have a contract here until 2022 and thus far, and I know managers are losing their jobs,  but the club have not indicated to me that they are going to sack me. I think they're pretty happy with how we are working and like I said, I'm very happy, and I have no reason to look elsewhere.

"And I think logic would tell you - I know in your job it's not always logical, there's gossip and speculation - but why would I want to leave Leicester City, at this moment in time?" he said.

I'm working with a young group of players that has so much potential and wants to improve and want to develop.  I was asked a question yesterday about my contract, talking about clauses and stuff like that, and I gave an honest answer which was based on most managers probably have something in their contract," said Rodgers.

"For me, I repeat, I'm happy here, very happy and have great relations with all the people and I feel I want to continue with that. Take from that what you want," he added.
