Jordan Spieth will take a four shot lead into the final round of the Masters at Augusta. The American carded a third round 70 and it could have been a lot better only for a double bogey on the 17th. The 21 year old American did well to par the last with a nice up and down to leave him on 16 under par.

Former US Open champion Justin Rose will be in the final group after an impressive round of 67 and that after two bogeys in his first five holes. Rose birdied five of the last six holes including the 18th which secured his place in the final pairing.

Three time Masters champion Phil Mickelson is well placed to mount a challenge from 11 under par and given his record at Augusta it’s probably a good thing for Spieth that Mickelson isn’t playing in the final group. Mickelson will play with Charley Hoffman who is 10 under par.

Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods are both probably just too far back on 6 under to trouble Spieth unless they go low on Sunday. Both players started well but McIlroy bogeyed two of his last three holes while Woods dropped a shot on the 18th.

Graeme McDowell finished up on 5 over, one better than Darren Clarke.
