Wes Hoolahan didn’t train with the Republic of Ireland squad in Abbotstown today due to a heel injury he suffered over the weekend.
The Norwich midfielder has been in superb form in the Premier League this season with one goal and five assists already.
Ireland assistant manager Roy Keane said we should know more about Hoolahan’s fitness in the next 24 hours but his team-mates seemed confident he’ll be available to face Germany at the Aviva Stadium.
For the second day in a row Seamus Coleman did his own fitness work away from the rest of the squad but with just two days until the Germany game, the Everton defender is running out of time to shake of a hamstring injury. However Cyrus Christie took a full part in the session and looks set to fill in for Coleman if he's not deemed fit enough.
Marc Wilson is still at Stoke getting a calf injury assessed while Kevin Doyle has arrived from the United States but Robbie Keane is yet to link up with the squad after becoming a father for the second time last night.
Asked if he thought Robbie would be available for Thursday night following the birth of his son, Roy Keane gave this hilarious response:
The Ireland squad will train in Abbotstown again tomorrow morning before Martin O'Neill gives his pre-match press conference. The World champions will hold their press conference in Dublin tomorrow and Joachim Loew's squad will train at the Aviva Stadium tomorrow evening.
