Ebony Marinoff will face an AFLW tribunal following the horrific injury sustained by Brid Stack.
The 11-time All Ireland winner with Cork suffered a neck injury while making her debut for the Greater Western Sydney Giants in a pre season game against the Adelaide Crows.
Stack was left with a stable fracture of the C7 vertebra but thankfully no injury to the surrounding nerves.
She's since been released from hospital, but will be confined to a neck brace in the short term.
Stack is expected to make a full recovery, but her husband Carthach Keane telling The Irish Examiner they went through a "scary few hours".
He added, "Brid still doesn’t have full feeling or full strength, but she will get there, that’s the main thing.
"She was lucky, it could have been so much worse, but the club (GWS Giants) have been absolutely superb.
"They couldn’t do enough for us, helping with everything from babysitters to physio and her rehab going forward."
Marinoff will go directly to a tribunal having been charged with "forceful front-on contact" on the Cork native.

An AFLW statement says, "The incident was assessed as careless conduct, high contact with severe impact."
The move directly to tribunal means Marinoff can't make an early plea.
"This was an incredibly unfortunate accident and we're thankful that Brid has avoided serious injury," said GWS head of women's football Bri Harvey.
"Brid and her family have made incredible sacrifices to come to Australia to play in the AFL Women's competition and we will be supporting them all the way through her recovery.
"We'd like to thank all those who provided Brid with the best possible care both at the ground and in hospital across Sunday."
