Manchester United agree deal to sign Sancho from Borussia Dortmund

Manchester United appear to have finally gotten their man, with a deal agreed in principle to sign Jadon Sancho.

The 21-year old will cost €85million up front to prise away from Borussia Dortmund. Reports suggest that fee could rise to as much as €95million depending on certain add-ons.

Sancho has spent the past four seasons at the Bundesliga club, having left Manchester City for just £8million in 2017.

In that time he's become a fully-fledged England international with 20 caps to his name - the most recent of which came as a substitute in the Euro 2020 Group D win over the Czech Republic at Wembley.

Sancho will complete a medical at United once England's involvement at Euro 2020 is through.

His signing is expected to be the first of a critical handful by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this summer.

The United boss remains in the market for a right-back and a defensive midfielder. They've already had a bid rejected for Sancho's England teammate Kieran Trippier. The 30-year old's club Atletico Madrid value the former Tottenham man in the region of €40million.

Sancho's acquisition also closes one of the longest-running transfer sagas in recent memory.

United were involved in a protracted - and ultimately doomed - attempt to sign the 21-year old last summer, but Dortmund were in no mood to sell.

Last season saw Sancho's second-lowest Bundesliga goals return since joining the club, but his six goals in the DFB Pokal saw Dortmund lift the trophy. Sancho scored twice in the 4-1 win over RB Leipzig in Berlin.
