Macauley in for Dublin's Super 8s clash with Cork

Dublin manager Jim Gavin has been forced to make one change to his team for this evening's Super 8s clash with Cork at Croke Park.

Michael Darragh Macauley comes into midfield to replace the injured James McCarthy.

McCarthy picked up a knee injury in Dublin's Leinster final win against Meath and is not being risked from the start tonight.

Dean Rock, who scored four-points as a substitute against the Royals, is once again on the bench.

Former Tyrone midfielder Enda McGinley thinks Rock will need to bide his time to regain a place in the starting 15.

“Jim Gavin has famously always said when you're in and you're playing well then it's up to you to hold on to the jersey.

“None of those Dublin forwards are giving any opportunity to take that jersey off them. And you have Dean Rock sitting there and he does nothing wrong when he comes in either. So, they have serious quality there.”

Defender Johnny Cooper remains sidelined with a foot injury.

Dublin v Cork:

1. Stephen Cluxton (Parnells)
2. David Byrne (Naomh Olaf)
3. Michael Fitzsimons (Cuala)
4. Philly McMahon (Ballymun Kickhams)
5. Jack McCaffrey (Clontarf)
6. Cian O’Sullivan (Kilmacud Crokes)
7. John Small (Ballymun Kickhams)
8. Brian Fenton (Raheny)
9. Michael Darragh-MacAuley (Ballyboden St Endas)
10. Niall Scully (Templeogue Synge Street)
11. Cormac Costello (Whitehall Colmcille)
12. Brian Howard (Raheny)
13. Ciarán Kilkenny (Castleknock)
14. Paul Mannion (Kilmacud Crokes)
