Three members of Ireland's Six Nations winning squad have been nominated for the official tournament Player of the Championship award.
Team captain Paul O'Connell has been joined on the 12-man short-list by scrum-half Conor Murray and Connacht centre Robbie Henshaw who has just signed off on his first ever Six Nations.
George Ford is one of four English players nominated, while Alun Wyn Jones and Sergio Parisse are among the other players short-listed, but there's no nomination for Ireland out-half Jonny Sexton or Wales captain Sam Warburton.
All star GAA teams or teams of the tournament are always divisive.
@paulcollinstipp how is sexton not even nominated?

Someone who appears to love driving us mad on this side of the world about such matters is Stephen Jones of The Sunday Times, who included 4 Italians in his selection along with Robbie Henshaw and Peter O'Mahony. Prompting this response from a well known Cork thespian.
@paulcollinstipp according to Stephen Jones only one would make the team of the tournament. Some beauty that guy.

Despite the fact that there are more Sasanaigh in the shortlist surely Munster's Paul O'Connell must be the front runner given how he led by example early doors at Murrayfield. A nice reminder of that day here:
Voting will close at midnight on Wednesday 25th March.
