Katie Taylor remains the undisputed lightweight champion of the world.

The Bray native beat American Jennifer Han at Headlingley Stadium in Leeds - marking her 19th consecutive victory since turning professional back in 2016.

The return to Leeds, her father's native city, marked an emotional moment for the 35-year-old.

All three judges scored the bout,  which was on the undercard of Lara v Warrington, 100-89 in Taylor's favour.

The fight should have been simple for Taylor but former IBF world champion Han did put it up to her and this was far from some of the classics we've seen from Taylor in the past.

Speaking to DAZN after her win, Taylor said that Han made her work for it.

“I knew coming into this struggle there was no room for complacency. Each struggle is hard at this degree.

“I hoped for a stoppage tonight, however she was good at surviving.

“I’m prepared to struggle anybody at any weight class. I would like the large fights., I need to be concerned within the greatest fights in ladies’s boxing.”

It's expected Taylor will fight Amanda Serrano next year.
