Jordan Spieth is the 2015 Masters Champion after finishing up on 18 under par which equals the score posted by Tiger Woods in 1997.

The 21 year old held his nerve on the final day at Augusta to claim a four shot win and first major title with a record number of birdies in a Masters (28).

Spieth started the day with a four shot lead and that advantage was stretched to five at the turn. He played the front nine in one under to move to 17 under par to leave him five clear of Justin Rose who had got within three shots of the leader twice on the front nine.

Spieth started the back nine with a birdie on the 10th and although he got himself in a spot of both off the 11th tee he still walked off the green with a six shot advantage.

The American made another two birdies on the way home and got himself to 19 under making him the first player in Masters history to reach that score but he did bogey the last hole.

Spieth is the first player since Ray Floyd in 1976 to lead outright from start to finish, as well as becoming the second youngest champion ever behind Woods and the win moves him up to second in the world rankings.

Spieth reflects on winning his first major title at the tender age of 21:

Justin Rose had started his round with two birdies but he gave those shots back before the turn and although he played the back nine in 3 under he finished four shots behind Spieth on 14 under.

Phil Mickelson also ended up on 14 under par and he didn't get the quick start he needed although you always get entertainment with him - he holed a bunker shot on the 15th for eagle which helped him finish up in a share of second place with Rose.

World number one Rory McIlroy finished up on 12 under which was good enough for a fourth place finish. His final round 66 was the lowest score of the day along with Hideki Matsuyama.

McIlroy's playing partner Tiger Woods finished up on 5 under while Graeme McDowell and Darren Clarke both ended up on 6 over.
